Is it safe to say that we should focus on quality content and let the rest sort itself out?

    • Exactly! Thanks for reading and commenting Scott.

Very safe to say that. Its not optimal for some people to say that, but unless you are seasoned with 5+ years of grinding it out in SEO, just be safe and dont be spammy. Just remember that good content is usually not enough, especially if you have no following and no established site. Best article on “random topic here” won’t build is own backlinks because it is still outranked by everyone else’s article on “random topic here”. Even if yours is better, you don’t have the momentum to just have great content payoff. Gotta learn to hustle the content, network, build valuable static content assetts (not just blogs). Moz’s google update calendar is one of the best examples of this.

    Hi Juntae,

Thanks for such a nice post.

Does Google takes into account the backlinks from .gov and .edu domain. What if I have back links from .edu or .gov subdomains. Will it help in rankings.

I agree to the CTR for improved rankings but what if I am running a PPC campaign as well targeting same page. Will that help indirectly in my organic rankings.

    Thanks in advance.

Will usually help, but it’s not because of the domain TLD. Those domain TLDs tend to be very powerful because of the universities that are on those websites, they also have high editorial standards and naturally are just very strong websites. Zero points added for having the .edu extension. If you wind up going after comment spam links or trading links through a student-owned webpage hosted on that domain (many students get some free server space), the link isnt anymore valuable than if it was at randomdomainxyz.com – especially because those pages you are going to be dealing with on that level are buried and have very very few internal links pointing at them.

Thanks for clearing things for me. I appreciate you giving time to answer queries.

“SEO and Content Marketing Don’t Mix” this is not a tactic that no longer works. Same goes for ”

Local SEO Doesn’t Matter Anymore” and on down the line.” You just made up some myth statements and debunked them, they’re not tactics. Odd.

    • Hi Marcus – these statements encompass certain antiquated tactics that some people may believe is true. I speak to those people when writing this post. I appreciate your input and look forward to future comments from you.

      • Marcus Aurelius

Those aren’t tactics, not even myths. They are fake myths that you made up to fit your article title because you couldn’t come up with any real content.

        • I welcome your constructive criticisms but your assumptions are subjective. Thanks for engaging.
